According to local news stations, nearly 8,000 runners were taking part in the race. This driver was speeding towards them. Were it not the bravery of the Troopers who put their lives at risk to block the lanes, this driver may have injured and/or killed hundreds of innocent runners. Instead, a 47-year-old female Trooper took the brunt of the injuries and was hospitalized with serious injuries. She is expected to recover.

Drinking then driving is JUST NOT WORTH IT. For a temporary buzz, this driver was willing to forever change the lives of innocent people. NEVER drink and drive. Leave your pride at the door and get a ride home. If you don’t have a buddy to drive you, or can’t afford a ride, then drink at home where you won’t have to drive and endanger the lives of others.
